I have almost 10 years experience specialising in complex and contentious multi-jurisdictional insolvency cases.
I manage a variety of contentious personal and corporate insolvency appointments, undertaking detailed investigations into the assets and affairs of the insolvent entity, and making use of the powers granted to insolvency practitioners to obtain information from third parties. I work closely with solicitors, litigation funders, and other professionals to formulate legal claims, enforce judgments, and realise assets to maximise returns to creditors.
We recovered assets valued in excess of £130 million that were held through complex ownership structures involving numerous corporate entities and discretionary trusts located in various offshore financial centres. The distributions to propriety creditors were in excess of £35 million.
This involved a complex multi-jurisdictional asset-tracing exercise in Switzerland, Cyprus, and Spain. We also supported The Pensions Regulator in their legal proceedings, where they were successful in obtaining judgment against the fraudsters for the funds they misappropriated from the pension schemes. This was the first time such a judgment has been obtained and resulted in the fraudsters being jailed for a total of 10 years.
The collective claim value exceeded £100 million.
Outside of work I enjoy the odd bit of DIY, playing golf, and spending time with my wife and daughter.
